Honor will reveal the Magic6 flagships soon. The company added the regular Magic6 and Magic6 Pro to its online store. The pictures show that the Pro has 100x zoom, with 10x optical and digital for the rest. On the other hand, vanilla only has visible 50x zoom and no periscope lens.
The CEO of Honor, George Zhao shared a picture of the upcoming Magic6 smartphone. Someone else also shared teasers of the Pro version. The pictures show the phone from all angles. The new phone will look like the previous model and have a 100x zoom feature.
Magic6 will have three cameras and smooth edges. The body has a back cover that’s rounded on all sides. George Zhao describes what inspired Honor to create the design of this line in the publication. The back panel of the camera looks like Lake Qinghai’s water surface and the camera block looks like a jade kong. This is an artifact of Chinese civilization, the purpose of which is unknown. It is similar to a vessel with an internal round shape and a square external cross-section.
Digital Chat Station shared a picture of the Pro version of the phone. It will have 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB storage. The Pro version will be offered in black, white, green, blue, and purple color options. The pictures show that the software will have a curved screen on both sides. There is a long cutout for two front cameras and thin borders.
Rumors say the Magic6 Pro will have a 50 MP main camera with a large sensor. It may also have a TV camera with a 200 MP Samsung HP3 module and a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The regular Magic6 will have all three cameras of 50 megapixels.
Honor Magic 6 series comes with Magic Capsule technology
The technology was announced at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2023 event. Magic Capsule CEO George Zhao gave a preview to the public. In addition to Apple and Huawei, Honor also supports facial recognition 3D and therefore has to adopt this solution. Previously, biometric sensors needed a hole for a more reliable 3D scan of the face. But now, there are less bulky options with the same benefits.
With the introduction of the Magic 6 series, eye tracking has also been added, allowing you to control your smartphone with your eyes . Honor’s video demonstration shows notifications displayed in Apple’s dynamic island style. When the user sees it, the smartphone understands it and opens the app in full screen, without necessarily having to use a finger to interact with it.
It is not yet completely clear how this technology works and how effective it is. Also, other companies have already tried to use eye tracking on smartphones in the past without success. ZTE Hawkeye .
Honor Magic 6: Satellite connection
Honor’s CEO, Zhao Ming, has confirmed that the Magic 6 series will have satellite connectivity. This news follows many rumors and leaks.
According to the CEO, Honor has dedicated considerable time to developing this feature. Notably, it couldn’t be included in the Magic 5 series due to time constraints in producing the necessary chip for this technology.
Zhao Ming did not give details about Magic 6 devices supporting voice calls via satellite. He only mentioned if they can send and receive SMS.
Finally, Zhao Ming also confirmed that the devices must have MagicOS 8 pre-installed. In other words, they come out of the box with native Android 14, in addition to having a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
However, when asked about the official launch date of the Magic 6 line, Ming preferred to leave this information for a second time.
